Background
Habtamu (Habs) was a learner on the VLUK BTEC course at The Football Learning Group campus and decided to continue within the OVEG group of education providers with a degree course at UCS. Habs thoroughly enjoyed his 3 years studying for his BSc in Sport Coaching. The reason he chose the UCS degree programme was because of the flexibility that allowed him to study alongside working, as well as the provision of work experience which supported his learning. The blended learning offered meant that 80% of the programme was online with 20% being face-to-face seminars. Habs found that the support he received, both online and offline, from the UCS staff was superb and truly allowed him to complete the course to fulfil his potential.
During his three years, Habs also completed his UEFA B licence allowing him to use the theory he was studying to be put into practice.
Next Steps
Following completion of his degree course, Habs continued onto a PGCE teacher training course and is now a BTEC tutor back at VLUK’s The Football College campus. He is also working towards his UEFA A licence.
