UCS student, Lui Bradbury, has been enjoying his time in Pori playing for FC Jazz. 20-year-old Lui, who arrived in Pori a few weeks ago, has been an excellent addition to the team. Bradbury scored twice in his first training game and recently showed his talent when FC Jazz faced and beat SalPa UK of the First Division 1-0 on artificial turf.

The test period convinced FC Jazz head coach Tero Suonperä, who has only positive things to say about the young player, “Lui has been convincing in every way. Both as a player and as a person. We were looking for a creative 10-yard player and we got one. He is a surprising player with a really high-quality shooting technique. Bradbury has the potential to rise to a big role and we definitely expect him to make an impact in the form of goals and assists.”

Bradbury first played for Manchester United from the age of 6 and moved to Leeds United’s U18 team at the age of 16. He said “In Leeds, I was the top scorer in the U18 team. I signed my first professional contract with Reading. After the season spent in Reading, I decided to move abroad to Malaga. I enjoyed myself in Spain and got to know a different lifestyle, culture and country. I personally had a successful season at CD Almunecar and was the team’s top scorer. After that, I moved to Brave SC Florida for the summer of 2024.”

After returning to Finland from America, Bradbury says that he thought about the future and decided to join a programme where he could study and play football professionally, so joined the Pro Player Pathway with UCS. Lui’s aim is to study on the degree programme to  obtain a sports coaching degree.

Lui stated “I have enjoyed every minute at FC Jazz so far. The staff and the team have welcomed me very well and made me feel at home. There is a community atmosphere at the club and the city is a nice place to live. I appreciate that things are done professionally at the club. Everyone is friendly and helpful, but also motivated, because we all want to do things as well as we can. This way, it’s easy to get involved when you see what’s going on around you.”
