What to expect
In addition to the outstanding classroom education, this programme is unrivalled in its work-based learning experiences that prepare students for the workplace and university. Alongside the football playing curriculum, all students complete work placements with the academy, running two physical education programmes at local primary schools.
In year one, students are given the opportunity to complete the FA Level one in coaching. This extracurricular course informs students of the technical demands of the coach, whilst training them in safeguarding and administering first aid.
The close working relationship with the Surrey FA has opened up numerous working opportunities for our students, such as playing on UEFA B courses and organising charitable sporting events. This has allowed students to gain valuable experience of working with a variety of different members of the local community.
Ultimately, this helps students to better understand the demands and requirements of adult football, their chosen workplace or university.
All players who are offered the opportunity to join our Academy do so knowing that the programme they sign up to has been specifically designed to blend football and education in a way to aid their progression to the next level.
